Anche se la ricerca della novità è insita nella natura dell’essere umano, nel profondo dell’intimità ci dilettiamo nel piacere della routine perché essa ci offre l'illusione temporanea di controllare il tempo e in questo modo, di dominarlo…
Sulla scia della poetica dei lavori precedenti, Tagliaferri con A Swimming Pool ci  coinvolge nella rappresentazione del suo rapporto di amore/odio con la routine: da una parte prova continuamente a sfuggirle, mentre dall’altra è cosciente di averne bisogno.
Con la lettura dei sette capitoli che compongono il libro si sperimenta un piacere paragonabile a quello dei semplici rituali quotidiani, riconoscendo quelle ripetizioni o quei cicli nei quali ci siamo progressivamente accomodati dal momento in cui abbiamo abbandonato la vita nomade e ci siamo trasformati in agricoltori che misurano il tempo.
Le immagini, prodotte con differenti macchine fotografiche in diverse zone del mondo, appartengono alla vita intima dell’autore, che attraverso la sua pratica artistica ci coinvolge nel tentativo di rendere più sopportabile la ripetitività del quotidiano. 
Tutto sembra monotonia, ma con il tempo qualcosa può cambiare…

While the search for the new is rooted in our human nature, we privately entertain ourselves with the pleasure of routine because it gives us the assurance of controlling and therefore dominating time... at least for the moment. In keeping with the poetics of his previous works, in A Swimming Pool, Tagliaferri immerses us in his love–hate relationship with routine: on the one hand, he attempts to escape from it, but on the other, he is aware of his need for it and thus seeks the pleasure of daily life.
Throughout all seven chapters of the book, we experience pleasure similar to that of simple common rituals, recognising the repetitions and cycles that we have ensconced ourselves in ever since we abandoned nomadic life and became time-measuring
farmers.
The pictures, taken in different geographical locations using different cameras (aspects that further highlight the routine nature of work), capture the author’s private life, which he shares with us in an attempt to make it more bearable.
Everything seems monotonous, but beware, there are changes…
