TILO&TONI

TILO&TONI is an artist duo. After an apprenticeship in stonemasonry, they studied Sculpture, Painting and Photography at University of Siegen, and graduated in 2017 at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. True to its motto "I wonder why he's the greatest DJ" by Tony Touch they remix, sample and appropriate, not as a conceptual trick but as a self-evident interaction with the world of images. About the gleeful, naive and cheeky work with techniques, media, material and visual discourses.

TILO&TONI was selected for plat(t)form, Winterthur; European Photography Award, Modena; Die Grosse, Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, Art Award of University Siegen and winner of fotopub festival prize, Novo Mesto. TILO&TONI exhibited their work in important institutions, such as Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf; Studio, Nederlands Fotomuseum, Rotterdam, Fondazione Fotografia, Modena; Unseen Amsterdam; Studio47, Amsterdam; HGB Gallery, Leipzig; Kunstverein Siegen; Kunstraum, Düsseldorf; Tannery, Athens; Saar Gallery, Saarbrücken; Kunstverein Malkasten, Düsseldorf; Museum für Gegenwartskunst. Tilo&Toni is represented by Metronom Gallery.
